MATEUS & BALMUNG

J'takra Solastra

Overview

A seeker with an abrasive personality, mean sense of humour and a bit of a short temper. He tends to be quite blunt and completely lacks any tact whatsoever, but that often makes for amusing antics. He can be entertaining and charming in his own right, but can also just turn around and be a complete bastard. His moods fluctuate wildly.Anyone with aethersight might notice that he has some dubious looking spellwork going on across his body. While it's purpose may not be immediately clear, it definitely seems peculiar. As if he were covered head to toe in invisible wards.Getting to know Tak can sometimes be a struggle, considering his first impressions are often terrible and he has the tendencies of a feral cat. However, for those willing to spend time in getting to know him, the brash mask he wears tends to fizzle out, and he acts much more like himself. The door is open, it's just heavy.

Appearance

Although he could be considered conventionally attractive, just one look at this rogue of a Miqo'te and you can practically tell he's going to be trouble. He has such a wicked fanged grin and mischievous look. At least when he's in a good mood.Lean and wiry, he seems built for speed, stealth and agility over strength. He's still somewhat underweight after getting over his drug addiction, and as much as he likes to think he could take anyone in a fist fight.... he's kind of delusional. He's fairly tall for a Miqo'te, but there isn't a lot to him. His tail and ears are both incredibly expressive and will always betray his mood.He likes to wear a lot of fancy gold jewellery, many chained piercings in his ears and a bejewelled collar always around his neck. He also has multiple bracelets and rings that match. His appearance would very much suggest that he has wealth, but he prefers to dress like a rogue or pirate. As of late, the quality of his outfits have definitely gotten much nicer, and he has ventured into wearing things a bit more fancy than his usual tastes. He even looks well groomed and presentable! All thanks to the influence of his partner.

Personality

Brash, brazen and full of bluster, this cat can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to get along with. antagonistic attitude and completely inappropriate tongue can make for some... interesting situations. He also tends to get rather moody at times, and can go from fairly chill to explosive temper in mere moments. He's easily set off by certain things, but he's all bark for the most part.Incredibly blunt, he isn't afraid to say exactly what on his mind, no matter how tactless it may be. Though, when it comes to giving compliments or anything implying he might care, that's where he struggles. A very 'It's not like I care about you or anything, idiot' Kind of attitude. He is secretly a little soft, but expressing care is so difficult for him.He likes to try and get a rise out of people, and struggles quite a lot with basic empathy. Even when he's trying his best, he's pretty much a fucking idiot when it comes to how others are feeling. He often tends towards changing the topic or just bolting when things get difficult.Being raised in a tribe, there are a few habits he was never able to break. He tends to be possessive and jealous over anything he's decided belongs to him. That can include things or people. He's become much better about not acting out, but with his partner he is still having problems. Especially thanks to some past trauma. He also has something of an inferiority complex that has him constantly trying to prove that he's the best, telling people how great he is, or acting as 'alpha' as possible to try and establish himself as the top dog. (It's incredibly easy to knock him down a peg or two if one choses to do so) He likes to introduce himself as a Nunh for this reason.Through all of that bullshit, Tak does have a lot of real and big feelings under the surface, and carries around a plenty of regret, anxiety and insecurity. Drinking and drugs help, but doesn't erase that deep underlying depression. It could be that he does want friends, and does want to fit in, but he just can't be anything but his off-putting self.It can be a challenge for people to get past his brash, antagonistic façade, and it really depends on how determined someone is to get to know him. But once he counts someone as his friend, he tends to want to stick by them. The only issue is that he can take it very hard if he feels like he isn't viewed the same way in return. He's bad at holding onto friendships, mostly thanks to his self-sabotaging habits.

History

Backstory

Born and raised in a seeker tribe that inhabited Raincatcher Gully, Tak had something of a rough upbringing along with his twin brother, J'sahr. The twins were often the target of their father's bullying and abuse. The Nunh of the Jah tribe was an asshole bigot and the walking embodiment of toxic masculinity.Their grandmother was the only source of protection the pair had from the Nunh. She would care for them, make sure they were fed, and soothe their wounds after a beating. Tak was incredibly attached to her, far more so than his actual mother, who was a hunter and had little time for him.In their early teens, their grandmother passed away unexpectedly and J'sahr attempted to kill their father out of desperation. The plan never came to fruition as the pair were caught trying to poison the veteran Nunh by one of their aunties. However, she took some pity on them, and had them leave the tribe instead of face punishment. The pair settled in Limsa, and scraped by as street musicians with stolen instruments. It was a difficult time for them both, homeless and often forced to scavenge trash and and steal. Even eating things like seagulls and pet cats when the opportunity arose. J'sahr did eventually manage to get a job at the most shitty, run-down pub by the docks, but Tak struggled. In the end, they eventually went their separate ways when Tak was taken in by a pirate crew and finally found something he was good at. Admittedly, that was mostly scrubbing the decks, because he was still a kid, but he was with them for several years and got to see plenty of action.

Past few years

Tak has worked (And was subsequently fired from or quit) many different jobs over the years. From working at shady bars and on ships, to pirating, trading companies and crime rings. This brash seeker still seems to struggle with true stability. Though he has accumulated a ridiculous hoard of treasure from his days as a pirate. He honestly has the means to just live off of that indefinitely, he just gets bored without distractions. He was once bonded to the Xaela who initially taught him thaumaturgy, but much like all of his other endeavours, that didn't last forever. He was young, stupid, and it was his first relationship. He rushed into things like a naive fool, and was subsequently burned for it. He has been generally very unwilling to agree to official relationships ever since. (There were a couple, but it was rough. Until very recently, that is!)While he was wildly unsuccessful in love, he had some good luck in other areas. As a previous co-founder of the magical order of 'ouroboros', he gained access to much magical knowledge and even a soulstone. It's thanks to the order that he was able to learn the use of black magic. So with wealth and power now something he had, he... still kind of continued to live like a stray cat.

For a couple of years he got caught up with a drug kingpin and cartel, getting hooked on the fantasy heroin and making terrible life choices. It was an incredibly messy point in his life, and he did a lot of stupid things. Lost a lot of weight, ruined many friendships, and completely spiralled. The relationship with Grey, this druglord, was intense but very unhealthy and volatile. They were absolutely no good for one another, and only dragged each other down. Thanks to constantly being high out of his mind, a lot of his memories from back then are very fuzzy. After he cut off things with Grey, he also, in turn, cut off his drug supply. He was desperate for any fix at the time, and somnus was the closest thing he could get. He inevitably ended up getting arrested when he made a scene stealing some, and actually getting caught with it on his person. He was forced to go cold turkey while in prison, and while it did eventually help him get clean, it was one of the most difficult ordeals of his life.

Recent history

In more recent history, Tak has finally made a proper effort to pull himself out of the gutter. While not perfect, he is now clean of the hard drugs he was once dependent on. He still takes fun stuff, but nothing so harmful. There are still times where he finds himself craving a fix, particularly when he's stressed. He has also started eating more regularly, and is generally more healthy now thanks to the effort of his partner and friends. There's been a lot of changes in his attitude the past couple of years, and he has matured quite drastically. He's still a little shit, but much more reliable and stable. It would probably be quite a jarring change for anyone that knew him before. He spent a couple of years leaving crime mostly in his past. Instead he was working at a place that mostly did leve jobs. It wasn't exactly his forte, but it was a peaceful time, and he made some friends he grew close to. He did inevitably lose contact with them when he left to look for more exciting ventures, but the impact they had on him is a lasting one.Currently he has become part of a mafia organization called the Sect, and has started to branch out with new friends and contacts. He didn't join willingly at first, instead getting himself into debt via some reckless thievery. You know, like an idiot. But he has started to find a place to fit in. Especially now that he's found a bit of a niche for himself at the side of one of the underbosses. He dabbles in his own interests on the side. Studying strange magic, dealing drugs and making plans to start his own pirate crew. His most recent thoughts have turned to opening an underground dark magic shop. Most of these ventures are works in progress, but he has many varying interests.

Another event of note is that he found himself in a relationship with a Keeper named Frey. They met through the Sect crime syndicate, and after years of being so adamant he didn't want anything official, fell absolutely head over heels for the fancy little Miqo'te.They both have their problems and issues, but Tak has literally never been so determined to make something work, even if it means having to correct his behaviour and ignore his hang-ups. Whatever it is about Frey, they have him acting kind of strange in ways he never has before. He is absolutely whipped. The two have become incredibly close, and share a rather amusing dynamic. Tak can be a stubborn shit, but if one wants him to do something, they only need to convince Frey. He has a hard time saying no to the keeper he calls the love of his life. He is, however, incredibly protective of Frey and won't hesitate to rip someone's throat out on their behalf. When out in public, the way the pair interacts with others is on entirely opposite ends of the spectrum. Frey is charming and outgoing, while Tak is blunt and a little standoffish. It can be quite a bit of whiplash for people, but the pair seem to work well together. Tak tends to stick to Frey's side, and is often seen accompanying the keeper at social events.

Skills

Combat

While Tak may appear to be more of a rogue-like type, based on physical appearance alone, he is in fact a skilled mage. He has been in possession of his black mage soulstone for some years, and has thoroughly refined his ability to blow shit up. He only breaks out the magic when he intends to inflict serious damage. When it comes to just hurting people, he'd honestly rather just shoot them in the dick or something. The gun is very convenient. He's much better about it now, but he does still have a habit of throwing a punch when someone really makes him lose his temper. He's underweight and really just not that physically strong, but when it comes to hand-to-hand fighting, he's very quick. Also very wriggly and hard to keep pinned, like a ferret.Aside from the black magic, he's pretty good with his gun. It's usually his go-to in non-life threatening situations. Black magic is still a forbidden practice, so he doesn't go about using it in public. He tends to just go by passing as a regular thaumaturge. His gun, however, he can pull out anywhere. He doesn't even need to fire it, it's often an adequate threat just by pointing it at people. He's got very basic knowledge with healing. (Definitely no expert, but he can do something in a pinch.) He's also fairly adept as creating magical barriers, which is his main form of defense. (He's mostly an offensive type, so this is really the only effective thing he has.)

Community Hooks

THE CELESTE THEATRE
A safe haven for Ishgard's underground, and a long-standing smuggling ring. The secret workings of the Celeste remain hidden under the guise of an avant-garde theatre, combining circus arts with traditional plays. While Tak does not officially work here, he can often be seen accompanying Frey, who tends to visit quite often.
THE REGENCY
A classy Gentlethem's club where Tak works as security, and Frey as a bartender. This is by far the most 'normal' job the two have, and both are usually present on open nights. These two cats are very open to conversation, so feel free to drop by and say hello!

THE SECT
A well-known, but still rather on the down-low crime syndicate. It has a fairly vast number of members, and the territory it operates on is mainly located in Ul'dah. Tak is a fairly established member, and has strong ties to one of the underbosses, who he acts as an assistant and bodyguard for. If one knows of the sect, they also might know of him.
MAGIC SHOP (WIP)
Still a work in progress for the time being. Tak is working in tandem with Frey and Corveau to create a magic shop and tarot parlour. Many strange curios, magical services, card readings and other obscure items will be available. There will also be a lot of fish.

Personal Hooks

PIRATING
Both on sea and in the sky, Tak once had a pretty strong reputation as a pirate. He hasn't been active on that front in a couple of years, but back when he was, the red-haired seeker was fairly notorious. Especially when it came to shooting people. The ship he sailed with was 'The Black Dawn' and was eventually caught by the Limsan navy. His sky pirate crew was much lesser known, as it kept within Limsa's rules and didn't draw much attention.
DRUGS
Due to the fact that Tak and Frey regularly take drugs, he's not an uncommon sight in the back alleys of Ul'dah. He could even be considered a regular in the drug scene. In the past he was only a buyer, but has since moved on into dealing. A list of his stock can be found HERE
GAOL
Tak has been in and out of prison a few times in the past several years. He tends to leave an impression due to how difficult he was to deal with, and the guards and other prisoners were often glad to see the back of him. There was one particularly notorious incident where he spent his sentence coming off of Somnus.

LA NOSCEAN JACKAL TRIBE
He was born and raised as part of a seeker tribe that makes it's home in the wilds of La Nosscea, Raincatcher Gully. The tribe itself is fairly small, and it's members often hunt locally, as well as do trade with the local town. While Tak no longer associates with his family, one still may be familiar with his tribe. (Willing to say any other J-tribe seeker is part of his family, if that is something you'd like to set up. But should probably read his connections page to make sure any established tribe lore doesn't clash.)
THIEVERY
Considering his old habit of stealing anything he might fancy, it's very possible that he may have previously robbed you, or someone you know. He favors items over coin, and generally makes a habit out of pocketing things that catch his interest. He is also notorious for breaking and entering.
PRANKSTER
This wicked cat has a habit of pulling horrible pranks on the unsuspecting. Anything from dumping wheelbarrows of chocobo shit on people, to volatile turkey explosions. It could very well be that Tak has pranked you before.

Rumors

It's a fairly widespread rumor about a troublemaking red cat that always seems to be on the run from the authorities. Be it the yellow jackets, brass blades and even sometimes temple knights. He's known for being hard to pin down, escaping over rooftops and into small spaces.

Lately, people have started to notice a fairly recognisable trouble making red cat always accompanying a similarly trouble making little grey cat. The two are seen together more often than not, and appear to have a sort of 'good cop, bad cop' routine when interacting with others. Just one look and it's probably obvious that they're trouble.

He's been seen hanging out with members of that one crime sect in public spaces. Particularly a couple of known underbosses, and even it's leader. It's easy to assume that he's likely involved in something sketchy. Some kind of organized crime, most likely.

Not an unknown face in the drug world. These days he seems to mostly just be a regular customer in the back alleys and shady dealers of Ul'dah. But he has a fairly strong reputation from the past, mostly about having ties to a powerful drug kingpin in Kugane. Anyone who's familiar with those old rumors would likely be wary.

When a rather infamous group of pirates was taken down and finally arrested by the Limsan navy, it's said that one of the members was a rather fiery little red haired Miqo'te that gave them so much trouble. When the ship 'The Black Dawn' was towed in, he climbed to the top of the mast, hissing and spitting at anyone trying to get him down. It took a whole sun, and caused quite a stir at the docks.

Tak was once known as a pretty infamous slut, though that rumor has since gone pretty quiet. However, it's said that he and his partner are the type of couple who like to seek out a good time with others. That they will potentially take people who interest them both back home. Be it for a single night, or an ongoing friendship.

According to recent rumours, this red cat has come to be known as a dealer of a most unique drug, simply known as 'blue'. Apparently approaching him about it at any time often yields results for any interested parties. He may subty offer to sell to those who look like the type to enjoy a good time.

Shadows talk, and it's quite well known now that he's shot... quite a lot of people. Usually not fatally, but his tendency to go for the dick has definitely earned him a notable reputation. It's often one of the main reasons that he's on the run from the law.

(By clicking on any of the links here, you agree that you are over 18 and consent to viewing material some may find upsetting. Proceed at your own discretion)

Airship Piracy

This is only a secret to some extent. He'd prefer to keep the fact that he does this a bit on the down low. If only because he's been arrested for piracy in the past, and knows the authorities have that info on him. He doesn't want anything leading back to him.Currently, he's in the process of having his very own ship made. He's also slowly trying to assemble a crew of people that he trusts. It's been a long term dream of his, to be a captain, and it's starting to come together. It might still be a while before things really kick off.

Void Magic

While he's not overly cautious about telling people he trusts that he practices black magic, his dabbling in the void is a completely different story. He tends to keep this pretty close to his chest, and will avoid telling others if it can be helped. His mentor, Ziero, took him on some time ago, and has been teaching him the basics of summoning and void related rituals. Said mentor also helped him set up his own pact with a fairly powerful voidsent. The pact comes with it's perks, but it also means that upon his death, Tak's spirit will not return to the lifestream. To anyone who can tell, his aether shows no sign of void corruption. He specializes mostly in strange lost magic. Blood rituals, warding, soul manipulation and other obscure practices. He has plans to eventually open his own shop where one can purchase obscure spells and cursed items.

Murderers Guilt

Tak has killed many people throughout his life. Some deserved it, many didn't, but typically he has little to no remorse for any of them. Aside from one, that is. The very first person he ever killed. As a child, he ran away from home in distress after a particularly severe beating from the Nunh, and had fled into Coeurl territory to escape any farther scorn. His grandmother had seen him flee, and had decided to chase after him, all the way to the river's edge. While Tak briefly contemplated throwing himself into the ravine the river had cut into the landscape, his grandmother had tracked him down and approached him, reaching to grab him and pull him away from the edge. However, the sudden contact startled Tak and caused him to lash out at his grandmother. She lost her footing on the slippery rocks above the cliff, and fell into the ravine, breaking her neck and back on the rocks below. The image of her shattered corpse laying upon those jagged rocks still haunts him to this day. She was everything to him, and he killed her.

Trauma and Issues

(Content warning: Child abuse, suicide, sexual assault, eating disorders, addiction, drug abuse)

(On an OOC note, I am willing to let other characters either figure these out themselves. Some are obvious, while others are not. If you spend enough time around Tak, and your character is observant, then go nuts.)

DAD ISSUES
Tak and J'sahr don't know this, but J'nhad isn't actually their birth father. He took over the tribe while their mother was already pregnant, but since such things are not supposed to matter, and the Nunh is meant to act as a father to all the kits, no one ever mentioned it.
J'nhad always felt resentment towards the pair, and viewed them as more of a potential threat that needed to be beaten down. He never wasted an opportunity to mistreat the twin kits. Tak got the worst of it, since out of the two of them, he was the most timid, while J'sahr was far more confident and outgoing. They often endured beatings and malicious words from the father figure in their lives.Their mother was the lead huntress and had very little time for babying them. So they were often left in the care of the tribe elders, along with the other kits. This is what left them vulnerable to J'nhad, since a gaggle of children can be difficult to keep track of.Tak became particularly attached to his grandmother, who used to soothe him after a beating, and feed him when his food was stolen. She didn't have much power over the mistreatment, but she was there to cuddle Tak and J'sahr, and tell them stories. At least until she passed away when they were 12. Ultimately, they felt safer leaving the tribe once she was no longer there.VULNERABILITY
Because of the way he was raised, it's very ingrained in Tak that expressing emotions of hurt or sadness are just wrong. Basically men don't cry. So when he does have hurt feelings, they tend to come out as anger, and he has a habit of lashing out. It takes someone being very close for him to even start considering talking about things, instead of dealing with them in his own aggressive way.
When it comes to certain things, he has a lot of trouble letting his guard down. Broken trust and past trauma have done the job of wedging a wall there. Some of that is expressed sexually, with his fear of bottoming. The rest tends to be social things. He's quick to have his feelings hurt when it comes to friends and their attitude towards him, which can often lead to him lashing out. He's quite bad at holding on to friendships.TOXIC MASCULINITY
J'nhad Nunh would regularly look for any reason to find something wrong with Tak. If Tak cried as a child, he'd likely get a beating for it from his 'father.' Often put down for being bad at tribe skills and a timid child, as well as scolded for expressing emotions.
The constant exposure to J'nhad and his views really warped Tak's perspective of things, and it's so ingrained that he's really struggled to get past it. Things like being vulnerable around others are particularly difficult. He has such a set idea of what he -should- be as a man.Other people who fall far out of what he's been made to believe is normal... they confuse him. He's made efforts to try and pull himself out of the mindset his father conditioned into him, but that's still a big work in progress.ASSAULT & S/A - TW
Tak has had a series of close calls over the years, as well as one instance of truly being assaulted.
When Tak was 14, J'nhad Nunh got him alone down by the river at the tribe's eastern camp. Tak was more than used to regular beatings from this man, though this time, after being knocked to the ground, J'nhad pinned him down, gripping his hair. Whatever the intentions were, nothing came of it because J'sahr found them, and hit J'nhad with a rock to the head. The thought of what might have been still gives Tak the chills, he has the distinct feeling he might have been drowned that afternoon.During his job at an importation company, Tak found himself called into the office of his boss. She was a seeker lady that had just gone though a rough breakup, and took it out on him. She stripped naked and cried on him, demanding to be 'fucked' and trapping him in there. The whole thing left him quite terrified of women, especially if they're crying.Tak had three major mentors in his life, all to farther his skills as a mage. The third one he had was a keeper man who seemed... a bit of a psycho. Though he knew a lot about magic, so Tak looked past whatever weird things were going on, in favor of bettering his magic. At some point, they had a disagreement and got into a fight, at which point the mentor really lost it. He almost killed Tak with lightning to the heart, and then chained Tak up in his basement as a prisoner.
Tak was tortured down there, and given multiple different potions of the mentor's own making. Some of them caused pain and hallucinations, and others left him all but powerless while he was abused. (He was eventually rescued after a couple of days in this situation, but it left it's heavy mark on his mental state.) He has some strong hangups about what he will let others do to him, now.
INFERIORITY COMPLEX
This one is also thanks to his father, who would always call him useless, pathetic, worth nothing, a bitch. Growing up with that constant reminder really ingrained it into him.
He often talks himself up and brags about things to compensate. Claims to be a Nunh because deep down, he feels that's the only way he could ever be recognized as anything worthwhile. Even if he really doesn't actually want to be a Nunh. These things always come off as jokes, but the reason behind them is actually that lack of self worth. He almost doesn't know how to take a genuine compliment. The bluster is used as shield for himself, hiding behind the egocentric façade. When alone with someone, that bluster tends to die out, and his true nature comes out.

INSECURITY & JEALOUSY
Thanks to events from the past, Tak has a really hard time when it comes to relationships. Between his first real partner running off with someone they were in a poly relationship with, to a later partner constantly doing things to deliberately make him jealous, Tak has become so insecure about things.
His default stance on relationships is that it's normal for them to be open. However, after being tormented by an ex so much, he now has a hard time not seeing other people as a threat. He's also been conditioned to feel as if, even though it's okay to do what he wants with other people, it's -not- actually okay. That there's going to be a fight about it if he does.Because of all these insecurities, he can get very hissy at potential threats, and incredibly possessive of his partner. He's trying to reel those feelings in and just be normal, but it's a very constant struggle.EATING DISORDER
While growing up, if wasn't uncommon for J'nhad Nunh to use food as a way to abuse Tak. If he caught Tak with food, he would often snatch it away, saying such things as "You don't deserve to eat our food if you're going to be useless to the tribe!" Or just straight up calling him fat and worthless.
Because of this, Tak developed a lot of anxiety when it comes to eating around other people, and prefers to hide himself away to eat alone, like he did as a kit. He's also developed some particularly unhealthy eating habits in the process. He's currently still a little underweight, but he's slowly making progress with recovery. On the flip side, Tak will eat in front of people who he really trusts. Not only that, but views being able to eat together with such a person as probably one of the most intimate acts possible. More than actually sleeping with them.SEX ADDICTION???
While it might appear that Tak has a one-track mind when it comes to sex, things are a little deeper than that. Though he's only just beginning to realize it himself.
He once described the need for intimacy like a burn. A constant painful, itchy feeling that is always bothering you, even when you're doing other things and trying to ignore it.Sex is how he has always usually dealt with it, since it was always easily available. It's still the best solution for him, as it keeps the nagging urge away for a while, but there are other methods he's found.Close contact with another person, such as cuddling or getting pets, works much like a salve to soothe the burn. It's not quite the same, but it helps a lot none the less.He knows whatever it is that he needs isn't -purely- sexual, since masturbation barely relieves any of that need, and is probably the least effective of all the methods. (He's touch starved, Harold)ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY
Ever since leaving his tribe and coming into his own, Tak found himself easily hooked on substances that can dull his painful memories and make him feel good.
It started with drink, which he first got into at 14. He quickly moved on from ale to harder stuff, and smoking was something that soon followed. He was working on a pirate ship at the time, so already surrounded by such bad habits. Gambling was also the main passtime while at sea.Later, he fell in with a bad crowd and started getting into illicit substances. The worst being a concoction made by one of his partners for a cartel in Kugane. (Basically fantasy Opiate. A lot like Somnus).
He ended up in a pretty bad state while hooked on this stuff, and it took him a lot of pain and strife to finally get off of it. He still takes other drugs, but nothing so harmful. The craving for a fix never -really- goes away, and gets particularly bad when he's stressed. He's had a few very close calls with almost relapsing, but so far he's managed to keep himself from actually doing it. There's always that danger, though, that something might eventually become too much, and he caves.
DEPRESSION AND SUICIDE - TW
Tak has long struggled with incredibly low moods, and on and off suicidal tendencies. There have been a few times through his life where he has made some kind of attempt to off himself.
With a lot of painful memories, nagging loneliness and an inability to properly express himself thanks to his upbringing, he often finds his moods at rock bottom. He uses things like drinking, drugs and sex to help try and lift it, with varying degrees of success. These days, while not actively suicidal, he has no qualms if death happens to find him. He's often the first to rush into danger for this exact reason. It has nothing to do with bravery and everything to do with no self-preservation.SELF SABOTAGE
Whether deliberate or not, Tak has an incredible ability to always make terrible choices. It's always been difficult for him to move in a direction that's good for him, and when he does he always feels very off about it. Like he doesn't really deserve to be happy or have nice things.
He tends to chase after things that are impossible, and agonize over them pointlessly, even if he knew it was hopeless from the start. As if he were out to emotionally punish himself. On the same note, he has quite a difficult time maintaining relationships, even if he values them greatly. A general lack of empathy and difficulty expressing what he needs doesn't help his case with that.

RP limits and requirements

OOC DISCLAIMERSMy characters may sometimes be mean, or do something horrible. This does not reflect how I feel about you. I'm really chill and kind of shy OOC, and sometimes even get embarrassed over the shit my characters do. (but that's what makes it fun, right?)I don't bite, and if you have an issue with a scene we might be doing, don't be afraid to say so and we can work something out. I like to think I'm pretty friendly and understanding about these things!I'm not thrilled about the fact that I have to put this here, but I am ACE in real life. I am not interested in anything at all with people on an OOC level. Friends are always welcome, but I appreciate that boundary being respected. I am a socially anxious person. Regardless of what my character is like, his actions and feelings do not reflect my own.

About the player

My name is Arthur, and I'm a nocturnal person with 40 pet spiders, who also lives in scotland. I tend to be pretty shy when it comes to initiating RP and meeting new people, but I'm always looking for more friends and IC interactions. I'm willing to give stuff a go!I do art very rarely, since most of my time is spent with either RP or game content. I do have both ADHD and Aspergers, and would just like to give a gentle warning that sometimes I am so fucking stupid when it comes to social situations. So being direct with me is best.I like RP in game and over discord. With a slight preference for discord because the pace tends to be a bit more chill, and scheduling isn't a factor. I'm always willing to do either. Just be aware that I am sometimes very bad at general chatting and I'm awkward at human interactions. Getting better, but my social skills are still rusty as fuck.
